Learn about fireflies and see hundreds of them light up the night. O'Leno State Park will stay open late for this special interpretive program on Saturday, April 8th and Saturday, April 15th from 8 pm to 9 pm.
Be prepared to show your day-use entry fee receipt to participate. Meet at the Pavilion near the river. You will be guided on a light hike of no more than 3/4’s of a mile in little-traveled areas of O’Leno State Park.
IMPORTANT TIPS
- Please wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes.
- Avoid using insect repellent! Protect against mosquitoes with long sleeves and pants.
- No flashlights or cell phone lights allowed. Rangers and guides will have red-filtered flashlights to guide you in the darkness.
