YogaLoka is honored to be partner with LCS Occupational Therapy to bring services to children in the community who have experienced trauma or rough beginnings.
Kori Brooks, a mother and Yoga teacher who specializes in kid's yoga, will guide the children through fun and calming yoga sessions. The classes will be split into age groups of 4-6 years old and 7-10 years old (limit 10 children per class). The younger group will run from 9:30-10:00 am and the older group will run from 10:00-10:45 am. Parents are welcome to enjoy a moment of respite in our comfortable lobby.
One of our goals with YogaLoka is to help heal trauma through yoga and meditation. Trauma can have profound negative impacts on children, causing hyper-reactivity and dampening their ability to self-regulate. Yoga and meditation have been found not only to help children calm down, but to actually rewire their brains to heal from trauma.
These classes are donation-based. Cash and check will be accepted. $5-10 minimum donations requested, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
