Join the Alachua County Library District and our community partners to celebrate the start of Summer at the Library. We will be holding our annual kick off to summer, called Reader Palooza, on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at Depot Park! Join us for a fun morning with all our community partners as we share great information and activities for kids.
Come to the hill at Depot Park near the corner of SW Depot Ave. and SE 4th Street. We will have games, music, and entertainment for all ages. During the event you can sign up for summer Reading and get a free summer swag bag. you can register as early as May 17 on Beanstack,. Track your reading minutes from June 1 to Aug. 2 to earn badges for chances to win weekly prizes from Sky Zone Trampoline Park or one of three grand prize tablets from PDQ Restaurant .
Throughout the day you can check out activities from our community partners - including Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, Fun 4 Gator Kids, United Way, and more - and learn about their summer plans and programs. Grab a treat from the Parkside Convenience Store or get a gelato from B'z Gelati. There will be entertainment from Gainesville magician, the Gainesville Circus Center, music from our live library DJ, and Bubble Man. The theme this summer is Adventure Begins at Your Library. We can't wait for you to explore all the fun things your local libraries have to offer this summer.
