
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Alachua County Forever Program, the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department has invited Alachua Audubon Society to participate in a guided hike at Lundgren Moccasin Creek Preserve.
The family-friendly hike is limited to 25 people. Participants should RSVP by emailing.
Participants can expect to encounter some of the of the local flora and fauna while also learning about the Alachua County Forever Program. The preserve contains 9 distinct natural communities including 1.5 miles of Moccasin Creek. The guided hike will be through a mix of habitats that will be mostly under a canopy of trees.
Here are some items to consider carrying on any field trip: binoculars (a must), water, bug spray, sunscreen, hat, sturdy shoes, rain gear for sudden downpours, notebook, camera, contact information.
