Due to a delay in the printing of the exhibit panels, the exhibition will now open on Thursday, September 27.

"Voices and Votes: Alachua County" focuses on our local history of elections, civil rights, and more. Researched and curated by Liam Shanley and Willett Hancock, this local history exhibition will be on display from June 26 through early 2025. The exhibition has been created in partnership with the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections, the League of Women Voters of Alachua County, and the Smithsonian Institution's Museum on Main Street program.

From July 20 to September 7, the Matheson will host the Smithsonian's traveling exhibition "Voices and Votes: Democracy in America." Schedule your tour today!

"Voices and Votes: Democracy in America" is part of the Museum on Main Street program, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Florida Humanities. Support for the local exhibition and programming was provided through a grant from Florida Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this exhibition do not necessarily represent those of Florida Humanities or the National Endowment for the Humanities.
