Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) claims the lives of thousands of seemingly healthy kids every year and is the leading cause of death on campuses and for student-athletes. The standard sports physical only detects about 4% of underlying heart conditions. The addition of electrocardiogram (ECG) increases detection up to 95%. An ECG is painless, non-invasive and only takes 5 minutes to complete.
Participants should refrain from physical activity at least 10-20 minutes prior to their screening to have a resting heart rate.
