It's time to do some Spring Cleaning! Community Reuse & Recycle Day at Santa Fe College is a special free community event organized by the Alachua County Solid Waste & Resource Recovery department, in conjunction with the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo's Party for the Planet.
The morning of April 19th, the public is invited to drop off donation items such as clothing, non-perishable food, housewares and school/office supplies suitable for re-use, and household hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals, old electronics etc. for recycling or proper disposal. This convenient drop-off event will be held at Santa Fe College parking lot 8 across from the Gym, adjacent to the Construction School.
The Zoo’s Party for the Planet 2025 theme is, “Spring Into Action!” This event gives residents the opportunity to take tangible action locally, to help their neighbors, protect valuable resources, encourage reuse, and reduce what we send to the landfill. Participants who drop off donations and items for recycling that morning, will receive a voucher for discounted admission to the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, while supplies last.
Santa Fe College Saints Share Wear, Haven Hospice Attic Thrift, Tools for Schools, Santa Fe College Saints Food Share and Alachua County Household Hazardous Waste, will all be on hand to help unload your donations and haz waste items at this convenient drive-thru event.
