The Sound of Music was the last musical written by the duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II (Oklahoma!, Carousel, The King and I, and many more). Winner of 5 Tony Awards, the Theatre World Award and OuterCritics Circle Award, including Best Musical. The musical loosely revolves around the biography of the Von Trapp family in Austria pre World War II. From how they became one of the world’s best-known concert groups in their home country, to becoming immigrants in the United States due to their oppositions with the Third Reich.
