Don’t miss the Sandy Back Porch band playing everything from bluegrass to cover songs on the front porch of the Historic Matheson House as a part of the Second Saturdays at Sweetwater series. On Saturday, February 8 from 2pm-3:30pm watch the sparks fly from the guitar of Stan Burns, fiddle of Freddy Burky, and Big Daddy Bass of Sandy Holdeman. All three musicians sing both lead and harmony vocals.

Stan Burns began playing guitar professionally when he was 13 years old and toured nationally as a teenager. Close your eyes, and you will think Johnny Cash is singing. Freddy Burky is a multi-instrumentalist although he prefers playing fiddle or guitar. He played in Orlando’s tourist district for years as the fiddling country bear in Disney's Country Bear Jamboree and at Church Street Station's Cheyenne Saloon. Sandy Holdeman is a songwriter and recording artist and plays Big Daddy Bass. Sandy’s people-pleasing performances are a familiar presence throughout Florida and Georgia whether it's singing, playing, or dancing.

This trio promises to bring a smile to your face with cover songs and time-honored standards.

Parking available at the Matheson, next door at the Offices of Folds and Walker, and the Alachua County Public Schools District Offices.
