Junior Rangers are invited to learn about one of Florida's particularly well-known resources - insects!
Researchers from University of Florida's Department of Entomology & Nematology will be bringing insects for curious learners to hold. First though, we'll learn about the importance of insects and what we can do to protect them. Junior Rangers with their passports have the opportunity to earn a stamp. The program is designed with 9- to 12-year-old Junior Rangers in mind, but all ages are welcome.
If you are interested in becoming an official Junior Ranger, please arrive 15 minutes early or stay after.
Available for handling will be one tarantula that is accustomed to groups of people. At any sign of stress, it is placed in a secure, clear container. If you wish for the tarantula to be in its enclosure during your visit, please tell the instructors.
