Alachua Audubon is proud to participate in the National Audubon "Let's Go Birding Together" LGBTQ inclusive birding expeditions. All identities are welcome at this family-friendly event.

Loblolly nature park is an urban gem, stretching across over 150 acres of forested bottomland of the Hogtown and Possum creek watersheds.

Meet trip leader Maggie Paxson at 8:30am at Loblolly North (parking area on NW 31 Dr off of 8th Ave, directly east of Westside park) for a beginner and family focused walk celebrating pride month.

Interested in learning how to bird or in exposing family members to birding in an inclusive safe space? This is the perfect walk for you.

Target birds include summer breeding birds, many of which are common in backyard environments as well, and lowland deciduous forest specialties like Acadian Flycatchers. Join us to learn how to identify the birds visiting your home while building community.

Difficulty: 1

The trail is flat and short with sections of boardwalk.
We suggest sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes, water, and binoculars. (A few pairs of binoculars will be available to borrow on site.)
