Meet trip leaders Tedd Greenwald and Mary Ellen Flowers in the parking lot - from the entrance kiosk, take your first right and go all the way down to the last parking lot; make a left there and go all the way down to park. Poe Springs Park is a lovely park in Alachua County along the Santa Fe River. We will walk the nature trail along the boardwalk through cypress swamp with views of the springs and continue on to mixed forest. On a recent walk, trip leaders spotted 22 species, including a Hermit thrush and several species of warbler.
Difficulty: 2, just under two miles, some uneven ground/roots. Public restrooms available
To bring: binoculars, closed-toe comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, water, sun protection.
