The Alachua County Library District understands the closing of the Micanopy Town Hall and subsequently the Micanopy Branch has caused inconvenience. Starting Friday December 6, the Library District will be supporting the Micanopy community with library services through the Bookmobile. The Bookmobile will be available for check out and return of materials, hold pick-ups, printing, internet access, and browsing. The Bookmobile will be located between the Micanopy Fire Department, 704 NE Cholokka Blvd, and the United States Postal Service, 202 NE 7 Ave, near the playground.
Micanopy Bookmobile hours will be: Tuesday – Thursday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Micanopy Branch of the Alachua County Library District offers weekly, monthly, and special programs to children, teens, and families throughout the building and grounds. Thanks to the location in the Micanopy Town Hall, children, teens, and families can enjoy their library, which contains a Snuggle up area, study tables near the children’s collection, and internet computers for all ages. They can also enjoy the play area with basketball courts located close to the Town Hall.
