Beginning in the fall of 2024, Alachua County Public Schools will be launching a new International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme at Williams Elementary School. The IB PYP offers a stimulating, challenging learning environment that nurtures the whole child and fosters a lifelong love of learning in ALL students.
The IB PYP crosses subject areas and grade levels, and is based on a model that has been successfully implemented in schools throughout the world, including here in Florida. It is recognized internationally for educational excellence.
IB PYP is what is called a ‘whole school’ program. That means ALL students at Williams Elementary, from Kindergarten through 5th grade, will transition into the IBY PYP, including those currently enrolled in the existing magnet program. Parents of students currently enrolled at Williams or zoned to attend the school in 2024-25 will NOT need to apply.
The IBY PYP will also be offered to students throughout Alachua County through the magnet application process.
