The City of Gainesville’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and the Wild Spaces & Public Places Department invite you to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate park upgrades at Duval Nature Park.
Join us under the park’s pavilion, located near the stormwater pond.
Parking for the event is limited, with parking lot spaces reserved exclusively for individuals with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) needs.
Shuttle service to the park will begin at 9:30 a.m. from the rear parking lot of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, located at 2505 NE Eighth Ave.
Funded by the Wild Spaces & Public Places surtax, enhancements include:
• An ADA walking trail around the existing stormwater pond at the eastern end of the park
• A new playground
• A new pedestrian entrance
• A new grill and water fountain
• New signage throughout the park
• Stormwater improvements at the northwest corner of the park
• A designated asphalt parking area, including bicycle parking, at the entrance on NE 24th Street
