Read the same book at the same (adjusted) time as children from Australia and New Zealand! We will read The Truck Cat by Deborah Frankel, as well as other Aussie and Kiwi books and crafts.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an event held every year in Australia and New Zealand where schools and libraries hold simultaneous story times to help spread the love of reading. This year, the event is behind held on Wednesday, May 21st, at 12 PM AEST.
While we can't join in at the exact same time--that would be the middle of the night for us!--we can hold our own story time inspired by our global friends. Join us on May 21st at 12 PM (EDT/EST) for a special storytime. We will read this year's NSS book, The Truck Cat by Deborah Frankel and Danny Snell, as well as some other reading and learning about Australia and New Zealand. We will also do some related crafts.
Note: We will have some overhead lights turned off, to simulate the time difference between our library and libraries in Australia/New Zealand.
