Alachua County Library: Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead at Cone Park Branch

Come join us as we learn the basics of computer coding and internet safety! With this program, build both your and your child's computer literacy skills through fun activities.
This program is in partnership with the Gainesville Housing Authority.
In this All Ages program, we will increase our confidence in navigating the internet & computers through learning the basics of coding, such as sequencing & looping. This program will continue from February-November 2025, during the 4th Friday of the month*. At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion and get to showcase their skills by operating some Ozobots. Activities will feature a combination of online activities and “un-plugged” ones to reinforce various coding skills.
Pre-registration NOT required, but laptop resources are limited. Participants may have to work in groups to facilitate everyone's participation with the resources at hand.
* The last program date will be November 21, the 3rd Thursday of that month due to branch closures for Thanksgiving.
