Join us for a Messy Playdate where creativity meets chaos (in the best way possible)! This time, we’re diving into the world of pretend cooking, letting the kids whip up their wildest culinary creations with expired(but still safe!) or leftover ingredients/food items you bring from home.
What to Bring:
• Expired but safe ingredients (e.g., old flour, stale bread/crackers, spices, broth, dried beans, etc.) for the kids to use as sensory materials. We’ll provide pots, pans, cooking utensils, and endless possibilities for messy, imaginative play.
• Shelf-stable, non-expired food items to stock our Free Little Pantry. Think canned goods, pasta, rice, and snacks. If we receive an abundance, we’ll donate the extra to support food-insecure neighbors in our community.
Feel free to bring any dishes, utensils, etc that you feel up for sharing!
This is a great opportunity for kids to get creative, explore textures, and have a blast “cooking” in a judgment-free, mess-welcome space. At the same time, we’ll come together to give back and nourish our community.
Important Notes:
• Dress your kids (and yourself!) in clothes that can get messy.
• Bring a container or two for any materials you may want to take home or dispose of after the fun.
We can’t wait to see the masterpieces your little chefs dream up. Let’s make a mess and a difference!
