  • Location: Dudley Farm Historic State Park 18730 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669

Join us as we recognize the Perkins Home being brought onto Dudley Farm as the first step in creating a more complete picture of life on Dudley Farms for white and Black residents alike.

The Perkins home was built by the family of Rebecca Perkins, midwife to many of the Dudley children as well as many of the local residents of Jonesville.

Rebecca Perkins family was able to purchase land from the Dudley family after emancipation. They stayed close to Dudley Farms and built a life of their own.

Including the Perkins home, the last remaining structure from a family whose ancestors were born enslaved to the Dudley family, will finally help fill a gap that visitors to Dudley Farm have unknowingly experienced.

Please, join us to commemorate this missing history that is finally being told and this effort to complete the historic record.
