Volunteer Service Opportunity - Saturday, December 16th at 8:30 am

Commissioner Ed Book's Downtown Refresh Event will incorporate a variety of community improvement activities to make our downtown area (a little more) beautiful! We kindly ask that individuals and large groups register on our website. Tickets are not required.

Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes. We also suggest wearing long pants and bringing a personal water bottle. We suggest sunscreen, too.

Graffiti Abatement
Tree Plantings
Sweetwater Branch Creek Cleanup - physically-fit individuals only please

The event will start and commence at 100 SW 1st Ave - "Lot 10"
Free parking will be available at the following locations (please remember to rideshare and carpool):
County Courthouse - 220 S Main St, Gainesville, FL 32601
KACB - 211 SW 4th Ave # 1, Gainesville, FL 32601
Gainesville Chamber - 300 E University Ave # 100, Gainesville, FL 32601
City Hall - 200 E University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601

Sponsor Highlights:
Jenna Byrne from the Water Warrior Alliance will be hosting the creek cleanup and looking for suitable locations for "water goats" (a device that captures trash/plastic flowing through the creek).
Gator Domino's will be donating pizza to us after we refresh and beautify our community!
Loosey's owner Danny Hughes providing drinks & water for volunteers
A free rock climbing pass to The Knot will also be available to any volunteers who wish to rise above.
Starbucks - Refresh volunteers that morning to get 20% off @ the Downtown location
Maude's Cafe will be providing a $1.00 discount on any item to refresh volunteers (and a free cookie!)
