Six Triple 8 tells the extraordinary story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black Women’s Army Corps unit that served in Europe during World War II. Facing a massive backlog of 17 million undelivered letters, the Battalion worked tirelessly to restore hope and connection for American troops abroad. Guided by their motto, “No Mail, Low Morale,” these women completed their mission in half the expected time—defying obstacles of war, segregation, and limited resources.
The production will take place at the historic Gainesville Old Post Office, located at 25 SE 2nd Place, from January 3–5, 2026.

Completed in 1911, Gainesville’s Old Post Office served for decades as the city’s primary federal hub—housing the post office, courthouse, and land office. Today, it remains a beloved downtown landmark known for its architectural character and historic elevator, making it a fitting venue to commemorate the 6888th Battalion’s legacy.
