Frazer School: Fall Middle School Invitational

We warmly invite you to attend the Fall Middle School Invitational, a Quiz Bowl tournament hosted by the Frazer School in Gainesville on Saturday, October 18.
Any Middle School can bring 1 or more teams of students to compete, as long as they have a chaperone (teacher, parent, or other adult); you do not need to be a school employee to chaperone. Teams can have up to 6 players, with at most 4 playing at a time.

What is Quiz Bowl? It is a buzzer-based knowledge competition where 2 teams compete to ring in and answer toss-up questions, with bonus questions given to whichever teams gets the toss-up. Each round has 20 toss-ups, and each team will play at least 8 rounds. Awards will be given for top individuals and teams.

How do I sign up? Email David Geering, teacher and Quiz Bowl coach at the Frazer School. Include this information:
Your (chaperone's) first and last name
Your school's name
Approximately how many students you expect to bring (you can update this as necessary)

Is lunch provided? Lunch is not included in registration. There are many restaurants within a mile of the school, including Italian, Asian, Mexican, Fast Food, and Barbecue. We encourage you to go support our local restaurants; you will have a 1-hour lunch break.

The money we raise is used to support the Frazer School's Quiz Bowl team as we represent Gainesville and Florida at the national level. Last year we were one of 2 Florida Middle Schools at the National Championship in Chicago, where we placed 72nd out of 160 teams from across the nation.
