The Hipp provides quality arts education for all ages. The region’s most dynamic and experienced teachers lead our camps and classes. Children are supported as an individual in a non-competitive, enriching environment through a spirit of inclusion, acceptance, and positivity. The Hippodrome also offers a growing roster of classes for adults, including Hipp-provisation, Scene Study, Storytelling, and multiple Play Observerships in conjunction with the Mainstage season.
The Hippodrome has also introduced such innovative programs as the New Play Reading Series, the Teen Playwright Festival, Theatre Arts Series and has hosted more than 200 visual arts exhibits, artistic residencies, master classes, festivals, and guest artist presentations.
Bring the magic of theatre into your classroom!
Members of the Hippodrome Educational and Artistic teams are available for classroom visits to conduct Theatre Exploration Workshops curriculum-based, hands-on activities on a variety of topics including improvisation, puppetry, creating theatrical adaptations from literature, and more!
We are happy to attend your school’s Career Day activities to share our love of working in theatre, teach students about the wide variety of careers available, and highlight the education and training needed to prepare for a theatre career.
