  • When: Friday, June 19, 2026,  3:00 pm -  6:00 pm
  • Location: High Springs African American Museum and High Springs Historical Society Museum
  • Cost: free

Please join us on Friday, June 19th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the High Springs African American Museum and the High Springs Historical Society Museum to commemorate Juneteenth. Both museums are located in the High Springs old schoolhouse, next to the Police Department.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans, marking the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, received news of their freedom.

To honor this history, foods historically suggested to celebrate the holiday are red-hued food and drinks, which symbolize the resilience and transformation of enslaved ancestors.
