Gainesville Community Band Veterans Concert for a Cause

The Gainesville Community Band, directed by R. Gary Langford, will present a Veterans Day Concert for a Cause in the Gainesville First Presbyterian Church sanctuary. The program includes a variety of patriotic songs and rousing compositions for the whole family. A free-will offering will be taken to support Made for More. Join us for a spaghetti dinner in Gordon Memorial Hall immediately after the concert. $5 per person; there is no charge for veterans.
The Gainesville Community Band was founded in 1974 with eleven members. In 1978, the Gainesville City Commission passed a resolution designating the GCB as the Official Community Band of Gainesville. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization made up of teachers, professors, scientists, business professionals, students, physicians, contractors, realtors, tradespersons, and retirees. It is conducted by R. Gary Langford, Professor of Music Emeritus at the University of Florida.
Made For More is a faith-based non-profit organization that mentors and inspires student-athletes. We accomplish this through teachings, mentorship, workshops, camps, exposure trips, and international and local community involvement.
