There’s no better way to wrap up the season than with the annual Newberry Christmas Parade! Presented by the Newberry Main Street Organization, in partnership with the City of Newberry, on Saturday, December 20th. This beloved event fills the streets with dazzling floats created by our very own community, twinkling lights, and cheerful holiday music. Families, friends, and neighbors line the streets to watch the procession along Main Street, waving and cheering as it makes its way through downtown. Local businesses join in the fun with special holiday sales, treats, and activities, adding even more magic to the day. It’s a picture-perfect small-town celebration that captures the heart and spirit of Newberry during the holidays.
Before the parade kicks off, the Newberry Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to join the fun with their annual Golf Cart Decorating Contest! Neighbors can enter their most festive, creatively decorated golf carts for a chance to win a $50 gift card, then roll right into the parade lineup to show off their holiday spirit. It’s a lighthearted, community-favorite tradition that brings an extra dose of cheer to the streets of Newberry.
While visiting downtown Newberry, guests can't miss Nana’s Gingerbread House Competition, also hosted by the Newberry Main Street Organization at the Newberry Municipal Building during and right after the parade! Guests can step inside to warm up with light refreshments, admire the incredible gingerbread creations, and vote for a favorite. It’s a sweet way to keep the holiday fun going and support the creativity of our local community bakers and artists.
