City of Newberry Christmas Tree Lighting

The most magical night of the year is back! We will launch another "Winter" Season right here, in the Christmas Capitol of Alachua County. The 7th Annual Newberry Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be on Saturday, December 6th at our City Hall downtown, as we kick off the holiday season in true small-town style. The City of Newberry is proud to host this beloved event — but it’s our incredible local businesses and community that make it shine!

Our community comes out to enjoy free hot cocoa and coffee generously sponsored by one of our hometown favorites, Two Sisters Coffee, and the kids get to dive into festive fun with Santa photos and holiday crafts sponsored by Greenfield Preschool. Little ones will be able to create their own ornaments, get cheerful holiday tattoos, and share their Christmas wishes with Santa himself!

The evening will be filled with twinkling lights, cheerful carolers, a cozy petting zoo, popcorn, photo ops galore — and a special surprise that will make this year’s celebration extra unforgettable. We encourage everyone to gather their family, bundle up, and come feel the joy as Newberry’s Christmas tree lights up the heart of our town once again!
