Thumbs Up Riding School Owner/Instructor Kami Landy: I teach balanced seat riding, which is an English form, the root of dressage and eventing, but applicable to most riding goals. My focus is on developing solid foundations: control, communication, confidence, relaxation. I like to teach private lessons, especially to beginners, so
that they can learn correct body mechanics from the beginning. Sometimes we do exercises on the ground to help build particular skills. Once a student is safe and fairly independent, if I have another student with similar schedule an learning needs, I’ll put them together– that lets me teach with other games and exercises. We have fun with mounted drill and pairs’ work.

Situated on 78 acres in Alachua County, 14 miles from Gainesville, it is equally convenient to Ocala, Jacksonville and southern Georgia. Being 10 miles from I 75, it will provide a handy layover for folks traveling through on the way to or from Wellington, and and ideal location to spend the winter season. Currently, amenities include a 20 x 40 meter covered arena, a 40 x 80 meter fiber arena, both lighted, grass driven dressage and cones areas, a driving marathon course with four permanent obstacles and two portables, and about a variety of cross country jumps.
The Equestrian Center houses and shares space with three other businesses. They include Thumbs Up Riding School, Yeager Equine Services, and Baillie Equine Chiropractic.
