Alachua County Humane Society Volunteering

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do — helping us care for animals and save lives every day. There are many ways to get involved, from dog walking and animal socialization to cleaning, events, and administrative support.

All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their release form during the application process.
Dog Volunteers must be 16 years and older.
Cat, Events and Thrift Store Volunteers ages 15 & under must have a parent or guardian present and actively involved at all times while volunteering.
Not all roles are suitable for young children, so we encourage families to contact our Volunteer Department to find the best fit for their interests and abilities.
