The Ice Cream Vault in Downtown Alachua is adding a little more sweetness to the community with the opening of its new Little Free Library and Hot Wheels Exchange on the shop’s outdoor patio. (Charter #227985)
Local families are invited to stop by, choose a book, share a book, or bring one from home to leave for another reader. Young car enthusiasts can also participate in the shop’s Hot Wheels Exchange — Take One, Trade One, Leave One.
The colorful, ice-cream-themed library was created as a fun, welcoming place where children and families can enjoy reading, sharing and connecting with their community.
“We wanted to create something special outside the shop that families could enjoy together,” said The Ice Cream Vault. “Whether a child comes to pick out a new book, trade a favorite Hot Wheels car or enjoy an ice cream with their family, we hope this becomes a little place of happiness for our community.”
The library and Hot Wheels exchange are located on the covered patio at The Ice Cream Vault and are available for local families to enjoy.
And, of course, visitors can make the trip even sweeter! The Ice Cream Vault features an incredible 144 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, giving kids — and grown-ups — plenty to choose from while visiting the library and exchange.
Families are encouraged to stop by, grab a book, leave a book, trade a Hot Wheels car, enjoy some ice cream and help us spread a little kindness throughout Alachua.
Come for the ice cream. Leave with a story — or maybe a new Hot Wheels car!
