Micanopy Area Cooperative School

Micanopy Area Cooperative School is a FREE charter school located in beautiful, historic Micanopy, FL. We have Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. The school is located twenty minutes south of Gainesville. Our mission, as stated in our contract with the School Board of Alachua County is to provide elementary students with a community – oriented educational environment that stimulates and motivates them. This environment is to be achieved by:

1. Providing a small student-staff ratio.
2. Incorporating the Town of Micanopy as the classroom.
3. Using the performance-based curriculum with individual learning plans for every student.
4. Involving parents and other family members in all aspects of their child’s education.
