THRIVE Newberry is launching an after-school enrichment program for students in grades 4-12. "Newberry Youth Voices for Safety" is a nonprofit community sponsored program to teach youth how to identify unsafe situations and how to manage them.
Presenters from Alachua County Sheriff's Office Focus Group, Pickett's Weaponry, Community Advocates, Educators, Law Enforcement, and more will volunteer their time and expertise. Students will develop individual safety plans using new laptops made available by a grant from The Children's Trust of Alachua County.
