O'Leno State Park Firefly Encounter

- Cost: $15 ticket price includes your park entry fee, and allows one vehicle with a maximum of 8 people.
Learn about fireflies and see thousands of them light up the night! This special after-hours interpretive program will be held on Saturday, April 6th and Saturday, April 13th from 8 pm. to 9 pm.
You can purchase tickets ahead of time. A limited number of tickets will be available on the actual event dates. Arrive early at the Ranger Station if you are planning on purchasing your tickets on the day of the event.
A short educational presentation about fireflies will begin at 8:00 pm. You will then be guided on a light hike of no more than 3/4’s of a mile in little-traveled areas of O’Leno State Park.
IMPORTANT TIPS
- Please wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes.
- Avoid using insect repellent! Protect against mosquitoes with long sleeves and pants.
- No flashlights or cell phone lights allowed. It confuses the fireflies. Rangers and guides will have red-filtered flashlights to guide you in the darkness.
