Arbor House, a living and learning motherhood community, serves homeless single women and single mother families while they pursue goals that lead to self-sufficiency and spiritual wholeness. Through housing, counseling, life skills training, parenting classes, part-time employment, career counseling, and educational opportunities, Arbor House accompanies these families on their journey toward stability. Bread of the Mighty

The Food Bank was established in Gainesville in 1987, and has worked tirelessly to get food to the plates of the hungry and food insecure. Catholic Charities Feed a Family Program

Fill a box with food to feed a family of 3 or 4 for three days. This method of food collection has become very popular with the donors and the clients. Catholic Charities Weekend Backpack Program

The Weekend Backpack Program was designed to supplement meals for children, who depend on their school for breakfast and lunch. The program identifies chronically hungry children who are in need of nutritional assistance over the weekend. Backpacks are filled during the week to be taken home on Friday with enough food for the child and their siblings during the weekend. Food4Kids Weekend Backpack Program

Friends of the Library

Family Volunteering and Book Donations: Our large building houses a great many books and welcomes volunteers of all ages. We accept donations year-round and have many volunteers who sort, price, and arrange these books for our semi-annual book sales which are open to the public. Lazarus Restoration Ministries- Food, Coats and Blankets Needed

Clothes and nonperishable food, such as canned goods, cereal and soup, are collected and distributed every Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lazarus Restoration Ministries. St. Joseph's Outreach to Blessed Hope Foundation- Donations & Volunteer

Our support is directed to the food pantry, which is open the first and third Tuesday of the month. Volunteers are needed for two hours a month to bag and distribute food to the waiting clients. The Children's Table- Food Donations

The Children's Table has an open-door policy, providing temporary emergency food and supplemental food to anyone in need of assistance. Many of these families are struggling to get by following a job loss, serious illness or a death in the family. We operate mainly in rural areas where there are fewer resources available to the people but we go where the need is.
