Alachua County Public Schools TAP Program

The Alachua County Teenage Parent Program (TAP) is a voluntary program provided by the Alachua County Public School District. The program is designed to meet the needs of pregnant and parenting students.

The Program works to facilitate the well-being and self-sufficiency of teen parents by providing and coordinating ancillary services to ensure that teen parenets remain in school, earn a high school diploma, and become produtive citizens and caregivers for their children.

The program includes the following ancillary services.
-Child Care
-Coordinated Health Care and Social Services
-Parenting Education
-Transportation for Parent and Child

Students may remain at their home school and receive the benefits of their education at that school, or enroll in Alachua County E-school. In addition to continuing their regular academic studies, pregnant or parenting students must complete a required parenting course with a grade of C or better.

Students, along with their parents or guardians, are advised to talk with the school guidance counselor at the school they are zoned, to discuss the eucational options available to them.
