The Cade Museum's exhibits, educational programs, and Creativity Labs encourage learners of all ages to think like an inventor, meet an inventor, and be an inventor. And we celebrate the entrepreneurs who turn these ideas into practical realities.
The Sweat Solution | Gatorade from concept to commercialization and beyond.
Our only permanent exhibit, The Sweat Solution, is an interactive exhibit, accessible through our rotunda. The Sweat Solution provides a summary answer to that delicate but necessary question posed in 1965, "Why don't football players ever urinate during a game?" The exhibit will showcase the invention of Gatorade, the lives saved because of its science, the industries that emerged from its invention, and its incredible global impact.
Creativity Lab
Dive into the bright history of Thomas Edison as both an accomplished inventor and innovative entrepreneur. Get creative and a little messy as you explore the science behind Edison’s greatest inventions with hands-on activities, experiments, and art projects.
Fab Lab
See how technology has evolved from the printing press to 3-D printers as you fabricate, investigate, and digitally doodle. Explore Tesla's contributions to the “Current Wars” and his vast catalogue of inventions while you wander through the life of this eccentric inventor.
On the 2nd floor, kids of all ages can play with a variety of puzzles and brain teasers.
Field Trips
We believe that every student has the innate ability to be exceptionally creative and become a future inventor. Our Field Trips spark wonder and link school-based learning with the world that surrounds each child. Field Trips are designed to complement your curriculum, and diverse themes enable you to engage your students with the Cade again and again for continually layered educational experiences.
Students will be inspired to think like inventors as they apply core science concepts:
-Pillars of Science – Exploring core content that correlates with CPALMS and NGSS Standards.
-Invention – Learning through the lens of invention and innovation, while exploring the lives of visionaries whose inventions have changed our world and continue to improve it.
-Exploration – Sparking creativity through hands-on projects and lasting “Make & Takes.”
