Speech4Kids Social Skills Groups

We’re a team of highly-skilled and relationship-focused therapists that provide effective and fun speech and language therapy.

While we exist for the children we serve, we believe the greatest impact that can be made in a child’s life is in their home.

For this reason, we get to know our children’s families, helping them to feel supported, understood, and cared for in a comfortable environment. We focus on developing family strategies to empower parents to help their children.

When we are working with a family, we don’t see just the child. We envision the future them (the father, the mother, the team member, the sibling) and provide training to help each child experience life to the fullest.

Services:
We’re excited to announce our newest group, Social Learning & Language for Preschoolers!
Because of COVID-19 closures, many preschool children today have not had exposure to groups of same-age peers. We offer children ages 3 – 5 the opportunity to interact with others in a small group where the emphasis is on engaging with friends, waiting for a turn, sharing, and initiating interactions. Groups run for four- or six-week sessions at various times throughout the year.

Social Groups for Elementary-age Students
Encourage social thinking to enhance your child’s interaction with peers! Our social skills groups use a Social Thinking® curriculum for elementary-age students.

We provide direct instruction for learning to pay attention to the thoughts and actions of others and making decisions about how to interact with peers.

Much of the curriculum explores sharing space with others, thinking about others in a shared environment and learning to regulate one’s behavior to pertinent social expectations. Additionally, we will learn about group expectations and “hidden rules” in a variety of common situations.

Groups run for four- or six-week sessions, provided during the summer months.
