SUMMARY:Buchholz High School Drama Players Presents Songs for a New World
LOCATION:Buchholz High School Auditorium 5510 NW 27th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a cho
ice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back. These are the stories
and characters of today, the Songs for a New World. The first musical from
Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County),
this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choic
es that we make.\n\nBrown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 S
panish sailing ship to a ledge, 57 stories above Fifth Avenue, to meet a st
artling array of characters that range from a young man who has determined
that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of m
arrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams... and a soulless marriage.\n\n
Join our talented cast and crew for a powerful evening of music, emotion an
d the moments that change everything.*This musical is best suited for teens
and adults. The story includes mature abstract themes like relationship st
 ruggles, desperation, and suicide.
