SUMMARY:Storytime and Hike with a Ranger
LOCATION:Ichetucknee Springs State Park 12087 S.W. Highway 27, Fort White, FL 32608
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Join a ranger as we read tales about wildlife, mindfulness and environmenta
l stewardship then a short walk on our Discovery Trail.

Descript
ion
A park ranger will read tales about wildlife, mindfulness and envi
ronmental stewardship then take everyone on a short walk on our Discovery T
rail.

We will read indoors in a temperature-controlled room, th
en connect the main ideas from the stories we read to what we see on the tr
ail (~0.25 mile). Our walk is on a firm but sandy trail in a sunny, exposed
area. Unfortunately, this trail is difficult to traverse with a standard p
ush stroller. It is suggested that participants on the walk take preventati
ve measures against ticks. If the heat index is at or above 90°F, we may sh
orten the hike and opt to end with an activity inside.

The prog
ram is designed with preschoolers and early elementary learners in mind, bu
t anyone who enjoys a good picture storybook is welcome to join. Family sty
le bathrooms and disability parking are available at the Environmental Educ
ation Center where we will be meeting.
