 Sunday Funday, a weekly live music feature that has helped to put Rum 138 o
 n the map for locals and tourists alike.<br /><br />This Sunday Rum 138 co-
 owner Merrillee Mallwitz-Jipson will celebrate her birthday as well as thos
 e many local water lovers with birthday cake for all. The event is also a p
 ublic kickoff of the campaign headquarters at Rum 138 for her run as candid
 ate for Florida House District 10. Merrillee will be onsite to answer quest
 ions and listen to voters’ concerns. <br /><br />In the Moment, Rum 138’s o
 riginal house band, will take the stage at 2pm playing “Jamerican” versions
  of favorites, plus their popular original music. Deeply connected to the S
 anta Fe River community, the band shares a true love for the river and has 
 proudly hosted and performed at festivals and events since venues first ope
 ned their doors. In the Moment holds a special place in local history as th
 e very first band to grace the Rum 138 stage, helping kick off live music t
 here and building lasting ties along the river; a staple in the High Spring
 s and Gainesville scene, they deliver high-energy performances ideal for fu
 n, dancing, and romancing under the Florida sun. <br /><br />Fronted by the
  naturally gifted Jamaican singer-songwriter Chris Newman, whose rhythm gui
 tar and soulful vocals set the tone. The lineup shines with Angela Grace on
  captivating flute, Jeff Fuller (aka Monkey Man) laying down seasoned, prof
 essional drums, John Dermont, a master of music on lead guitar, guitar lege
 nd Missi Peterson, and the impeccably smooth bass lines of Linda Dixon.<br 
 /><br />Eddys Patty food truck will be on site grilling burgers, hot dogs a
 nd chicken to order and now also serves fresh fruit and vegetable salads. T
 he Rum 138 Bar will be open with Sanna and Daisy serving wine, beer, signat
 ure strawberry wine slushies, pina coladas and Premium Blend (TM) mixed dri
 nks as well as select NUTRL vodka seltzers and delicious ACE ciders.<br /><
 br />Rum 138 offers rentals and sales of kayaks, canoes and SUPs and featur
 es the Springs Art Gallery and the only ongoing exhibit of John Moran Photo
