 mporary dance. Spring Concert spans unique themes and presents creative cho
 reography that showcases the talent of Danscompany of Gainesville performer
 s from age 10 through adult. Enjoy choreography by guest professional artis
 t, Todd Shanks, and a piece by our founder, Nina Cameron, that will be rest
 aged on a new generation, as we carry on her legacy of love.<br /><br />The
  performance also includes The Danscompany’s annual “State of Wonder” which
  features original music by Florida composer, Dave LaGrande and songs by lo
 cal band, Sister Hazel.<br /><br />Enjoy original jazz, lyrical, tap and co
 ntemporary movement as we take a fictional journey with young Marj basking 
 in the sun on the beach with jazzy tourists as she gets pulled into a ripti
 de and the state comes alive with magic. On her adventure, we meet the Merm
 aids of Weeki Wachee Springs, swashbuckling Buccaneers, flocks of birds, se
 a turtles, seagrass showgirls, our Manatee MC Fresh of the Club Tropicana a
 nd more.<br /><br />Inspired by the works of incredible activist and writer
  Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, Marj learns the importance of caring for the na
 tural world around us as the Wise Oak Tree comes to life and warns her to l
