  and mixing soil to grow flowers in their pots.<br /><br />This fun, hands-
 on program blends history, science, and creativity. First, kids will learn 
 about the importance of Black History Month before decorating black flowerp
 ots in honor of the annual observance. Next, they will learn about the life
  and achievements of George Washington Carver before diving into soil scien
 ce and mixing their own soil. Finally, after learning about seeds and flowe
 rs, kids will plant red and yellow flower seeds and water their pots for th
 e first time.<br /><br />As their flowers grow and bloom in the following w
 eeks and months, kids will see all the colors of Black History Month (black
 , red, yellow, and green) come together in one beautiful, living display.<b
