 Our Prairie Buds program is designed for children ages 3-5 and follows the 
 forest school model for education. This means our program is entirely outdo
 ors and uses free play in nature to guide our classes. Our outdoor classroo
 m is located in the Serenola Forest Neighborhood on the south side of Gaine
 sville, with hikes through Serenola Forest and a few site visits to neighbo
 ring natural areas. \n\nOur Philosophy:\nAt Prairie’s Edge Forest School, w
 e believe that children are not simply “adults-in-training” but are importa
 nt people in our social and ecological community. They should be listened t
 o, valued, and respected. This idea drives our approach to learning as the 
 instructors at PEFS follow the child’s interest and allow play to drive our
  agenda.\n\nNew Fall Sessions!\nSession 1: Saturday, September 27th, 12-1:3
 0 pm – Autumn’s Embrace: A Harvest Gathering\nSession 2: Saturday, October 
 18th, 12-1:30 pm– The Grove of Nature Spirits: Discover your inner magic\nS
 ession 3: Sunday, November 9th, 12-1:30 pm – Nature Dens: Preparing for Win
 ter’s sleep\nSession 4: Sunday, December 7th, 12-1:30 pm – Welcoming Winter
 : Forest Crafts and Light Exploration\n\nCost: $25 per guided nature-based 
 immersion and sensory play session (or $90 for all 4 sessions)\n\nCost is p
 er family – More than 1 caregiver and child can be included in a family. \n
 \nLocation:  The location may vary for each session date, but will be held 
 at either one of our Forest School locations in south Gainesville.  Details
  and directions to location will be provided a few days before the session 
 date.\n\nPrairie Buds (3-5) and Prairie Babies (0-2) classes are taught by 
 Jordan Evans who has obtained her certificate in Horticultural Therapy from
  the University of Florida and is currently pursuing registration with the
