DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Families and students interested in taking advantage of one of the district
 's highly-successful academic or career-tech magnet programs are invited to
  the district's annual Magnet Showcase on Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m.
  to 1 p.m. at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center. <br /><br />Stude
 nts and teachers from each program will share information and conduct demon
 strations and hands-on activities. Last year's Showcase attracted more than
  2,500 people.<br /><br />Magnet programs are open to students currently in
  PreK through 9th grade who meet the requirements, regardless of where they
  live. Transportation from hub sites is available.<br /><br />All magnet pr
 ograms will also be holding open houses and some will offer shadowing oppor
 tunities after the Showcase.
