 ce the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is a public school, the ed
 ucation is provided at no cost to the families, as well as housing for thos
 e students living outside the local area. Students living locally ride a bu
 s home each day. The school is 93 percent state funded; private donations a
 dd the remaining 7 percent, and those donations supply some of the extras s
 uch as life skill classes, tutoring, books in Braille, playgrounds, music a
 nd performing arts. Seventy-five percent of the students at the Florida Sch
 ool for the Deaf and the Blind qualify for free and reduced-cost lunches.\n
