 on makes a difference!<br />Every contribution to this Event helps The High
  Springs Lions Club raise funds for this school, and by laying the groundwo
 rk for the successes and impact the school has on its current students and 
 the next generation of the community.<br /><br />Since the Florida School f
 or the Deaf and the Blind is a public school, the education is provided at 
 no cost to the families, as well as housing for those students living outsi
 de the local area. Students living locally ride a bus home each day. The sc
 hool is 93 percent state funded; private donations add the remaining 7 perc
 ent, and those donations supply some of the extras such as life skill class
 es, tutoring, books in Braille, playgrounds, music and performing arts. Sev
 enty-five percent of the students at the Florida School for the Deaf and th
 e Blind qualify for free and reduced-cost lunches.<br /><br />So come on ou
 t and enjoy some great music, food, and fun, and let's raise some funds to 
 ease the financial burdens they face.
