We will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at our fishing ponds! Registration and fishing will begin at 8 a.m. Several of the ponds will be temporarily blocked off until 8:30 a.m., at which time they will be opened for the hunt. Two areas will be set up: one for children ages 6 and under, and one for children ages 7 and older. Each child will be given a goodie bag prior to the hunt, which they can use to collect the eggs. The plastic eggs will contain candy, but a number of them will contain a voucher that can be turned in for a prize – small tackle box, Diamond Rattler lure, package of rubber worms, or Bass Pro hat.
Fishing for Success hosts monthly events that provide families the opportunity to fish together in a safe and fun setting at the 6 heavily stocked "catching ponds" on the grounds of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. As always, all family members, including those with disabilities, are encouraged to participate! Volunteers are on hand to help with baiting hooks and releasing fish. Participants are welcome to bring and use their personal equipment/bait or use any program resources offered. No need to RSVP for events unless your group has more than 10 people.
If you could bring your empty aluminum cans and used printer cartridges, we would greatly appreciate them! We will recycle them and use the money for bait and tackle.
