Storytime and Hike with a Ranger

Join us for a storytime adventure designed for young nature lovers!
A park ranger will share engaging picture books about wildlife, mindfulness, and environmental stewardship in a comfortable, temperature-controlled room. Afterward, we’ll head outside for a short walk along the Discovery Trail to see how the ideas from our stories connect with the natural world around us.
The trail is approximately 0.25 miles and is firm but sandy, with limited shade. Please note that it may be difficult to navigate with a standard push stroller. Tick prevention is also recommended for anyone joining the walk.
If the heat index reaches 90°F or higher, the outdoor portion may be shortened and replaced with an indoor activity.
The program is designed with preschoolers and early elementary learners in mind, but anyone who enjoys a good picture book is welcome!
Family-style restrooms and accessible parking are available at the Environmental Education Center.
