Come enjoy free pancakes, coffee, and orange juice on a Thursday morning as prepared by a park volunteer and ranger. This all-ages gathering is a great opportunity to ask about volunteer opportunities, about the park, how to plan your day, and more. Or, you can simply enjoy warm pancakes with the morning sounds of the Ichetucknee. The public is invited to join the fun anytime within this window. We want everyone to be able to enjoy their pancakes. If you require gluten-free pancakes or have any other food allergy concerns, please call or email in advance so that we can be prepared.
For families planning out their day, we have coloring sheets, a memory game, and a puzzle always available in our visitor center. The visitor center also has exhibits to explore and is the headquarters of our Junior Ranger program. Adjacent to the outside of the building is the start of our 0.5 mile loop, the Discovery Trail, where you may have the chance to see gopher tortoises.
Just after pancakes, we'll be leading "Storytime & Hike with a Ranger". Coffee and pancakes are made possible thanks to generous donations made to the "Help Our State Parks" fund (HOSP). Although donations are never required, they are always welcomed so that we can continue to offer free programs like this one in the future.
