Hop on Over for Amphibian Week!

Join the SF Teaching Zoo and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on Sunday, May 4th from 9 AM – 1 PM to celebrate the incredible world of amphibians! Meet local conservation experts, play interactive games, and soak up some ribbiting frog facts.

What to Expect:
-Fun, hands-on activities for all ages
-Games hosted by local conservation groups
-Fascinating presentations by amphibian experts

Presentation Schedule:
-9:30 AM – Weird and Wonderful World of Amphibian Biology
Dr. David Blackburn shares how frogs, salamanders, and caecilians thrive in diverse habitats worldwide.
-10:30 AM – FrogWatch U.S.A: Local Calls and Croaks of Alachua County
Jade Woodling & Dr. Cody Godwin teach you how to become a community scientist and identify frog calls right in your backyard.
-11:30 AM – Discovery and Declines of Amphibians Around the World
Dr. David Blackburn highlights exciting species discoveries and global conservation efforts.
-12:30 PM – Introduced and Invasive Frogs of Florida
Dr. Steve Johnson uncovers which nonnative frogs are hopping into Florida ecosystems—and what that means for our natives.
